“Iran Strikes Saudi Base, U.S. Troops Injured”

Iran conducted an attack on a military base in Saudi Arabia, causing injuries to U.S. service members and damaging aircraft. This retaliation was in response to Israeli strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. At least 10 American troops were wounded in the assault on Prince Sultan Air Base, with two of them sustaining serious injuries. The incident also resulted in damage to several refuelling aircraft.

Following Israel’s threats to escalate actions against Tehran, they carried out strikes on two Iranian nuclear facilities, as reported by Iranian state media. The targeted sites were the Shahid Khondab heavy water complex in Arak and the Ardakan yellowcake production plant in Yazd Province. These strikes did not result in casualties or environmental risks, with the Arak plant being non-operational since a previous Israeli attack.

The Israeli military stated that the Yazd plant processed raw materials for enrichment, emphasizing that the attack dealt a significant blow to Iran’s nuclear program. In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned of heavy consequences for Israel’s actions. The tensions escalated further when Iran launched missiles at Israel, prompting alerts for residents to seek shelter.

In diplomatic efforts, U.S. President Trump mentioned progressing talks to end the conflict, focusing on reopening the Strait of Hormuz. However, Iran denied engaging in negotiations. Amidst economic repercussions and pressure to resolve the crisis, Trump’s administration presented a 15-point proposal to Iran through Pakistan for a potential ceasefire, involving limitations on Iran’s nuclear activities and the strait’s reopening.

Witnesses reported intensified attacks early Saturday with power outages in Tehran and explosions in Tel Aviv. Israel vowed to impose severe costs on Iran for its actions, targeting weapons production sites in Tehran and missile facilities in Western Iran. Additionally, Saudi Arabia’s Defence Ministry confirmed intercepting missiles and drones aimed at Riyadh.

The conflict also impacted Kuwait, with ports sustaining material damage, including a Chinese-affiliated project under construction as part of the Belt and Road initiative. The war’s toll included casualties in Lebanon, Iran, Israel, the West Bank, Gulf states, and Iraq, where Iranian-backed militia involvement has led to security force casualties.

The ongoing hostilities underscore the escalating tensions in the region, with military actions and diplomatic maneuvers shaping the volatile situation.
