The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed close to 30,000 pages of documents on Tuesday, which included images, court records, and emails related to Jeffrey Epstein. This release came after the initial disclosure of documents on Friday and Saturday concerning the DOJ’s case files on the deceased convicted sex offender. The newly released documents highlight various connections to Canada.
One noteworthy file contained an April 2020 letter drafted by the DOJ and sent to authorities in the U.K. The FBI and the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York sought an interview with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, regarding potential ties to fashion tycoon Peter Nygard. The letter indicated evidence linking Mountbatten-Windsor to both Nygard and Epstein in separate sex-trafficking probes. It mentioned that Mountbatten-Windsor had visited Nygard Cay, Nygard’s lavish estate in the Bahamas, where Nygard allegedly trafficked underage and adult females.
While the former prince was not a subject of any investigation at that time and had not violated any U.S. laws, the letter suggested that Mountbatten-Windsor might be asked to provide testimony in either the Nygard or Epstein cases if he shared pertinent information during an interview. U.S. authorities had specific questions for their U.K. counterparts to pose to Mountbatten-Windsor, including details of his interactions with Epstein or Nygard, visits to their properties, and encounters with women associated with them.
Peter Nygard, a fashion mogul, has been embroiled in several sexual assault allegations across different jurisdictions. In 2023, he was convicted by a Toronto jury on four sexual assault charges.
Additionally, one of the FBI’s intake records includes claims made in August 2020 by an unnamed individual who alleged being groomed by a Serbian Canadian “lingerie model actress” and another person in 1996 when they were 19. The accuser mentioned that their artwork was stolen by these individuals as they needed money to settle a debt. The complaint suggested a scheme involving false romance and grooming to eventually introduce the accuser to Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein.
In a separate allegation to the FBI dated August 5, 2020, a person stated that they were introduced to Epstein by a Canadian woman who was a friend at the time. The meeting reportedly occurred in New York City around 2004 or 2005, with the Canadian woman also being acquainted with Maxwell. The woman, described as an aspiring French Canadian model, allegedly procured young women to meet Epstein, many of whom were underage and aspiring models from other countries. The allegation further detailed that the woman received cash from Epstein for her assistance and mentioned his preference for massages.
The release of these documents sheds light on the intricate web of connections involving Epstein and several individuals, including notable figures like Prince Andrew and Peter Nygard.
