A roofer named Jansen Simpson witnessed a car flying off the Draveurs Bridge as he was driving to the gym one morning. The vehicle landed on the ice below the bridge, miraculously upright. Despite the severe damage to the car, a young man emerged from the sunroof seemingly unscathed.
Simpson, who was prepared to rescue the man, was amazed by the fortunate outcome. He had safety equipment ready to descend onto the ice to help the driver, but the man managed to walk to shore on his own, albeit cold and limping. Simpson assisted him up the riverbank and offered warmth in his van, joking about the driver having only eight lives left.
When emergency services arrived, they were astonished by the situation. The car had been captured by a traffic camera as it flew off the bridge, narrowly missing another vehicle. The incident occurred on a clear day, according to Transports Québec, with no charges filed yet as an investigation is ongoing.
The driver, though appearing uninjured, was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Simpson, after the dramatic rescue, continued on his way to the gym, emphasizing the importance of not skipping leg day. The heroic act of saving the driver from a potentially fatal accident left everyone involved in disbelief at the miraculous turn of events.
