A pivotal moment came when, after Murphy denied a scoring opportunity by Gardiner, Hannah Miller set up Daniel for a crucial goal with 13:37 remaining in the game. Karvinen sealed the win with a goal at the 6:18 mark.
The Vancouver team, now boasting a record of 5-1-2-7, previously triumphed over the Torrent 4-3 in overtime in the inaugural matchup between the two expansion teams. Gardiner’s goal in the final seconds of the first period set the tone for Vancouver’s lead, while Eldridge responded for Seattle with a goal in the second period, tying the game at 1-1.
