A safety recall has been initiated for Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Ovens that were sold in both Canada and the United States due to a potential electric shock hazard. The recall specifically pertains to Flashxpress toaster ovens identified by model numbers NB-G205S and NB-G200SVA, which can be located on the product label at the rear of the toaster oven.
The issue lies with the power cord of the toaster oven. Panasonic has stated that there may be insufficient insulation as a protective fiberglass sleeve might not completely cover the cord, creating a risk of electric shock or fire. In response, Panasonic, Health Canada, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have jointly advised consumers to immediately discontinue using the affected toaster ovens and return them to the company for a full refund.

According to Health Canada as of June 15, there have been no reports of injuries related to the power cord issue in Canada. In the U.S., Panasonic has received five reports of circuit breakers tripping in connection with the toaster ovens, although no injuries have been reported.
