Ann-Renee Desbiens made 26 saves to guide the Montreal Victoire to a 1-0 victory over the Vancouver Goldeneyes in the Professional Women’s Hockey League. Desbiens achieved her third career shutout in the PWHL.
Montreal’s lone goal was scored by Nicole Gosling at 12:17 of the second period, marking her first goal of the season. Vancouver’s Emerance Maschmeyer stopped 25 shots in the game.
In another match, the Ottawa Charge secured a 2-1 win over the Boston Fleet in a shootout. Katerina Mrazova’s decisive goal, along with contributions from Fanuza Kadirova and Brianne Jenner, led Ottawa to victory. Boston’s Hannah Brandt and Jamie Lee Rattray found the net in the shootout, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Ottawa’s efforts.
Susanna Tapani opened the scoring for Boston with her fourth goal of the season, while Jenner equalized for Ottawa with her seventh goal in the third period. Boston’s Aerin Frankel made 17 saves, while Ottawa’s Sanni Ahola recorded 31 saves in the game.
