“Toronto Tempo Set for 2026 WNBL Debut Season”

The Toronto Tempo are gearing up for their inaugural season in the 2026 Women’s National Basketball League, with their first game set to take place on May 8 against the Washington Mystics at Coca-Cola Coliseum. The league unveiled its 44-game schedule, which includes three season-opening matches.

Negotiations are currently ongoing between the WNBA players and the league to establish a new collective bargaining agreement. If an agreement is reached, Toronto will primarily play their home games at Coca-Cola Coliseum but will also have the opportunity to host three games at Scotiabank Arena, the home venue for the NHL’s Maple Leafs and the NBA’s Raptors.

Fans can anticipate exciting matchups at Scotiabank Arena, with the Phoenix Mercury scheduled to play on June 27, the Minnesota Lynx on July 30, and the Indiana Fever led by Caitlin Clark on August 18. Additionally, the Tempo will showcase their skills in two games at the Bell Centre in Montreal against Dallas and New York on July 10 and July 12, respectively. In Vancouver, the team will compete against the expansion team Portland on August 21 and face off against the defending champions, Las Vegas, on August 23 at Rogers Arena.
