Canadian freestyle skier Marion Thénault clinched a silver medal at a World Cup aerials competition held in her home country. Thénault’s performance secured her second place in the women’s category with an impressive score of 81.78 points. The event was dominated by American Winter Vinecki, who scored 93.58 points, while Emma Weiss from Germany secured the third spot with a score of 79.33.
Hailing from Sherbrooke, located approximately 250 kilometers south of Lac-Beauport, Thénault bagged her fourth medal of the World Cup season, comprising two silver and two bronze medals. Notably, she was the sole Canadian athlete to advance to the women’s final round. In the men’s competition, Ukraine’s Dmytro Kotovskyi claimed the gold medal, followed by China’s Sun Jiaxu and Quinn Dehlinger from the United States. The highest-placed Canadian in the men’s event was Miha Fontaine, finishing in eighth position.
