Canadian Screen Awards week has begun, with the Children’s Television Awards winners being revealed at the initial of six ceremonies in Toronto. The event unveiled 16 winners in various categories. Josette Jorge secured the title for Best supporting performer, children’s or youth for her role in “The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia.” The accolade was celebrated with a Canadian Screen Award. Another standout was the show “Toopy and Binoo Fabulous Adventures – Giggling Flufferoos,” which clinched the award for Best writing, pre-school.
Will Arnett shined in the category of Best voice performance for “Super Team Canada.” His exceptional talent earned him the prestigious Canadian Screen Award. The animation “Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum – I am Jackie Robinson” swept the awards for Best writing and Best direction in the animation category.
Among the winners were Katie Boland, who won Best direction for children’s or youth for “Macy Murdoch – Tick, Tick, Gone,” and Asha Soetan, who was recognized as the Best lead performer, children’s or youth for her role in “Odd Squad.” The popular show “Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood” took home the award for the Best pre-school program or series.
The event also saw “Super Team Canada” winning the Best animated program or series award, alongside a win for Best children’s or youth fiction program or series. The festivities included the Canada Media Fund kids’ choice award going to “Mittens & Pants,” adding to the array of celebrated productions at the Canadian Screen Awards week.
