The FBI announced the discovery of a glove containing DNA, found approximately three kilometers from Nancy Guthrie’s residence in Tucson, Arizona. This glove is believed to match the one worn by a masked individual outside Guthrie’s home on the night she disappeared. The glove was located in a field near the roadside and has undergone DNA testing, with preliminary results indicating a potential match. Confirmation of the DNA match is pending.
Nancy Guthrie, Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old mother and a well-known figure, was last seen at her Arizona residence on January 31 and reported missing the next day. Blood traces were found on her front porch, and ransom notes were allegedly sent to media outlets, with two payment deadlines having lapsed without compliance.
Savannah Guthrie, in an emotional Instagram video on Sunday, made a heartfelt plea to the abductor or anyone with information about her mother’s whereabouts, emphasizing the importance of doing the right thing and expressing faith in humanity’s inherent goodness.
The FBI disclosed that around 16 gloves were discovered in various locations near Guthrie’s home, mostly belonging to search teams and discarded during the search operations.
Recently, surveillance footage was released capturing the masked individual outside Guthrie’s residence. Described as a suspect by the FBI, the person is approximately five feet nine inches tall with a medium build, carrying a distinctive 25-liter backpack. Concerns have been raised about Nancy Guthrie’s well-being due to her medical conditions, including dependency on essential daily medication and a history of heart issues.
During the investigation, DNA samples were collected from Guthrie’s property, not matching her or individuals close to her, prompting further efforts to identify the DNA source.
