During the match, Mboko, seeded eighth, managed two aces and three double faults, with a first-serve point win rate of only 50%. She seized the opportunity to break once in the game. On the other hand, Andreeva, with one ace and one double fault, dominated by winning 73% of her first-serve points and successfully breaking five out of her ten chances.
Mboko is scheduled to face Australia’s Emerson Jones in the opening round of the Australian Open on Monday local time, which is Sunday night in Canada. She enters the Grand Slam event as the No. 17 seed, anticipating her debut at the Australian Open after an impressive 2025 season on the WTA Tour. Recognized as the WTA Newcomer of the Year for her victory at the National Bank Open in Montreal and a substantial rise in ranking from No. 333 to No. 18 by the season’s end.
The final of the Adelaide International showcased a face-off between 18-year-old Mirra Andreeva from Russia and 19-year-old Victoria Mboko from Toronto, with Andreeva claiming victory with a score of 6-3, 6-1, securing the fourth WTA title of her career.
