Quebec’s Electric Rock Duo Inspires Unique Halloween Costumes

Quebec’s famous electric rock duo, recognized for their use of microtonality and math rock, and for concealing their identities behind black-and-white, polka-dotted full-body costumes, might just inspire your next Halloween outfit.

Instead of the usual salt-and-pepper shaker costumes, you can now opt for the Angine de Poitrine couple’s costume, available at Party Expert for a reasonable price. Following recent media coverage, the costumes quickly sold out online but have since been restocked, indicating the band’s increasing mainstream appeal.

Renowned as an anti-AI symbol of human creativity, the avant-garde duo has garnered a loyal following for their commitment to eccentricity, ranging from their unique electronic sound to their claim of being 333-year-old time-traveling aliens who communicate in a made-up language during performances.

For around $105 each, you can embody the band members’ distinctive looks this Halloween – drummer Klek de Poitrine’s signature white attire and guitarist Khn de Poitrine’s signature black ensemble.

Originating from Saguenay, Que., the duo formed in 2019 and gained local recognition before releasing their debut album, “Vol. 1,” in 2024. However, it was their performance at the Festival Trans Musicales in Rennes, France, in December 2025 that propelled them to fame, with the video amassing 20 million views on YouTube.

Their second album, “Vol. II,” released in April, received widespread acclaim, leading to high demand for their 2026 tour tickets, which were being resold for over $500. The band recently clinched the Polaris Album prize and the SOCAN Polaris Song Prize for their track “Fabienk.”

When contacted by CBC, the band declined to provide any comments regarding the costumes available for purchase. While the costumes are not officially endorsed by the band, they are marketed as the “Black/White Polka Dot Attack Costume” and are priced at $59.99 each, with matching masks/hats available for an extra $44.99.

For those finding the cost prohibitive, there are DIY options, as demonstrated by an Instagram user who garnered over 17,000 views with a tutorial for creating a Khn costume. Embracing the band’s spirit of eccentricity, fans can also craft their own versions using simple materials and a lot of creativity.

In summary, Angine de Poitrine’s rise to fame can be attributed to their distinctive style, captivating performances, and commitment to pushing artistic boundaries, making them a standout act in the music industry.
