“Tragic Chairlift Fall Claims Life of Maple Ridge Teen”

An 18-year-old individual from Maple Ridge, British Columbia, tragically passed away following a fall from a chairlift at Cypress Mountain ski resort on Thursday evening. The West Vancouver Police Department received reports of a medical emergency around 7:30 p.m. and confirmed the man’s death at the scene.

Authorities described the incident as a “tragic accident” with no signs of foul play or mechanical issues related to the chairlift. The family of the deceased has been informed and is being provided with assistance, according to police sources.

Victims’ services were deployed to aid witnesses of the incident. The West Vancouver Police Department expressed profound sympathies to all affected by the tragedy.

B.C. Emergency Health Services dispatched two ambulances and a paramedic specialist team but did not transport any patients to the hospital. Cypress Mountain acknowledged the fatality involved a resort guest and offered condolences to the individual’s loved ones.
