Justin Bieber achieved a remarkable milestone at the American Music Awards ceremony held on Monday night, securing his fifth win as the best male pop artist. Hailing from Stratford, Ontario, Bieber surpassed his previous record of four wins in this category. His initial victory came in 2010 when the award was known as favorite pop/rock male artist.
At this year’s event in Las Vegas, Bieber was nominated in four categories, including artist of the year and album of the year for his recent work, “Swag.” With this latest win, Bieber’s tally of American Music Awards reaches 19, placing him on par with the late Kenny Rogers for the second-highest number of wins by a male artist. Michael Jackson holds the top position among male artists, having accumulated 24 awards.
Justin Bieber, known for hits like “Peaches,” recently returned to the stage at Coachella, marking his first major performance since canceling a tour in 2022 due to health issues related to Ramsay Hunt syndrome.
Additional notable victors at the ceremony included BTS, who secured the artist of the year award, and Sabrina Carpenter, who emerged victorious in the album of the year category.
