“Yaletown Stabbing Suspect Pleads Guilty”

A 35-year-old woman has pled guilty to charges related to a series of stabbing incidents that occurred in Vancouver’s Yaletown area last October. Tamara Hamelin was apprehended on October 10 following an altercation that resulted in three individuals being hospitalized with non-life-threatening wounds. Subsequently, four more victims emerged, comprising another stabbing casualty, an individual reportedly subjected to physical aggression, and two others who escaped physical harm.

The victims, consisting of five men and two women aged between 23 and 59, were assaulted near David Lam Park, adjacent to Vancouver’s Yaletown seawall. According to authorities, the attacks were characterized as violent and unprovoked. Hamelin was subsequently charged with four counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of assault.

During a court appearance at Vancouver’s Downtown Community Court on December 16, Hamelin admitted guilt to all charges. The British Columbia Prosecution Service has confirmed her continued detainment, with sentencing scheduled for March 31 as per court records.
