“Kremlin Accuses British of Deadly Attack on Russian City”

The Kremlin has accused British experts of playing a role in a deadly Ukrainian attack on the Russian city of Bryansk using British Storm Shadow missiles. The Bryansk regional governor confirmed that the strike resulted in the deaths of at least six civilians and injuries to 37 individuals, labeling it a “terrorist missile attack.” When asked about a potential military response to the use of British missiles on Russian territory, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia would consider the British involvement in the incident.

Peskov emphasized that the launch of the missiles could not have happened without the assistance of British specialists. He highlighted Russia’s awareness of this fact and its consideration of the British role in the matter. The Kremlin’s response came following the strike that targeted a Russian facility producing critical missile components in Bryansk, as stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

In a separate incident, local officials in Kharkiv reported that a Russian drone strike hit a civilian business, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to five others. The attack also caused a fire at the business premises. Kharkiv, situated near the Russian border, has been a frequent target of Russian air attacks since the full-scale invasion in February 2022.

Negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, facilitated by envoys sent by former U.S. President Donald Trump, were ongoing before the outbreak of the conflict in the Middle East. The next round of trilateral talks, potentially to be held in Istanbul, aims to continue the peace process between the two countries. Previous talks have taken place in Istanbul and other locations with U.S. mediation.
