Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen was flooded with support from fans when she posted about the “lows and the even lowers” alongside a family photo.
The former model turned farmer shared a series of images of the dry stone walled home that she and her family are planning to renovate. The mother-of-nine rose to fame on the Channel 5 reality series, before launching Channel 4‘s Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids.
A second series of show, which documents Amanda and her family’s day-to-day life on a secluded farm in the Yorkshire Dales, will air in 2025. Despite Amanda and Clive splitting in 2022, the new series will follow their plan to convert an old barn on the Ravenseat estate into a cosy family home.
Writing on Instagram, Amanda said: “How it started. Here’s how you can follow our journey, the highs, lows and the even lowers. TONIGHT ON CHANNEL 4.” Although some fans posted their disappointment at thinking it was the start of the latest series, they still showed their support for Amanda in the comments.
One wrote: “Love the whole family cannot wait to see them in next series beautiful children a credit to both the parents.” Another wished the family well, saying: “Enjoying watching the start of your huge project good luck, it will be amazing.” A third echoed: “It’s going to be amazing when you get it finished; you’re doing a fantastic job of restoring it.”
Amanda is known at the Yorkshire Shepherdess, and has gone on to make a name for herself not just on the TV, but with her own series of books. The Huddersfield native’s Sunday Times bestsellers give her fans a look into how she left city life to pursue her dream of the countryside, alongside her children and their animals.
Amanda’s now ex Clive, 69, who is dad to her kids, discussed their separation on the show, while their eldest Raven still comes back to help after moving to university in York. Elsewhere, Clive discussed the breakdown of the marriage, admitting he shoulders the blame for their divorce.
He told the Sun that the real reason they split was because he “wanted to keep her to myself”, with Amanda moving on with a 72-year-old web designer named Robert Davies. They split in September last year. Clive explained to the paper: “Amanda and I had done everything on the farm together, struggled hard through thick and thin for 20 years and then, all of a sudden, it felt like that’s not how it worked anymore.”
He continued: “If I’m honest about it, I didn’t want to accept that I was no longer the breadwinner for our family. It was especially hard knowing that Amanda, who is a very beautiful woman, would be going out all dressed up to launches and events and meeting other people. I wanted to keep her to myself and for her not to leave the farm. That’s really when the relationship started to go bad, I suppose – about five years ago.”
