Stanley 1913 has recalled two of its travel mugs because they could burn users.

Stanley has pulled several versions of its popular Switchback and Trigger Action mugs off the shelves in the UK. You can find a full list of all the different sizes and colours, along with all the affected product identification numbers, in our list below. The product identification number is located on the bottom of the mug.

If you’ve purchased one of these products, you should stop using it immediately. Instead, you should request a free replacement for Stanley. You can ask for your free lid by filling in this form online – you’ll need to enter the product identification number and place of purchase – or by calling 0800 249 4582.

A warning from the Office for Product Safety and Standards on GOV.UK reads: “Stanley 1913 have issued a voluntary recall of the Switchback and Trigger action travel mugs because the lid threads can shrink when exposed to heat and torque, causing the lid to detach during use, posing a burn hazard. The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.“

The products were sold online from 2016 through to 2024. The listing has been removed by Amazon. For all product recalls, you can check the Food Standards Agency and Chartered Trading Standards Institute websites. You should also notice recall notices in stores if they’ve pulled a product from shelves.

Other recalls you should be aware of include M&S pulling some chicken products from shelves over fears they could be contaminated with salmonella. The recall notice only applies to Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland stores, and relates to M&S Southern Fried Chicken Burgers and 2x Chicken Kievs.

Heineken UK has recalled bottles of its Newcastle Brown Ale from shelves over fears they could contain shards of glass. The bottles that are included in the recall are 550ml in size and have a best before date of November 30, 2025. The batch codes to look out for are: L4321, L4322, L4323, L4324, L4325, L4326.
